Centre releases Rs eight crore for Bengal SGRY

Kolkata, Jan 24 (UNI) The Centre has released Rs 8.06 crore for the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojna (SGRY) in Bardhaman and Howrah-- two districts of West Bengal during the current fiscal.

A PIB release here today said the grant would be utilised for approved works subject to the conditions laid down in the guidelines under the SGRY programme.

The expenditure on implementation of the programme with regard to cash component is to be shared on 75:25 basis between the Centre and the state Government respectively.

The release said the state Government was required to release its share within a fortnight of the date of release of the Central assistance. The District Rural Development Agencies(DRDA) was supposed to approach their Banks for the amount of grants-in-aid a week after the date of receipt of the sanction, it said.
