CBoP Q3 net up 44 pc

New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) Centurion Bank of Punjab (CBoP) today posted 44 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 33.5 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 in comparison to Rs 23.3 crore during the same quarter last year.

The bank's net advances stood at Rs 9,427.6 crore during the said quarter, registering 66 per cent rise over the corresponding period last year.

Its deposits grew by 46 per cent year-one-year at Rs 12,530.7 crore in comparison to Rs 8,588.4 crore.

During the quarter, the bank opened seven new branches taking its total network to 256 branches across 128 locations in the country.
