Bones, skulls could be recovered from other UP dists too:Cong

New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) The Congress today said that it had learnt from its cadres that bones and skulls of the types found in Nithari and Etah could also be found in all districts of Uttar Pradesh and called upon all the NGOs and social activists to come forward to wipe out the criminal elements in view of the police failing in its duty to curb this trend.

Congress Spokesperson Jayanti Natrajan said it was shocking to learn of the chilling reports of discovery of human bones and skeletons from Etah, the area belonging to Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, where 50 to 60 people were earlier reported missing.

She told reporters here that though it had shocked the conscience of every person, the police had come out with an excuse that the discovery of bones and skulls could be because of the proximity of the post mortem centre nearby. "The attitude of the police is callous, shocking and indefensible." "In every district of the State there could be bones and skeletons of human beings who might have lost their life in various circumstances," Mrs Natrajan said.

She charged that Mr Mulayam Singh gave his consent to a probe into the Nithari killings only after most of the evidence of the murders had been destroyed by the police.

"It is useless to appeal to the police or the Administration to check the incidents of kidnappings and murders as it is callous," she said."We therefore call upon all the right thinking people, NGOs and activists to join in our campaign to utterly wipe out criminal elements in the society and end the Government that ignores such incidents."
