BJP holds 'Chintan Baitak' in AP

Hyderabad, Jan 24 (UNI) The Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh began a two-day 'Chintan Baitak' here today to chalk out an action plan to make the party a decisive force in the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the state.

The brain-storming session chaired by state Unit president and Former Union Minister B Dattatreya discussed threadbare the strategy to be adopted by the party to carry forward short-term and long-term agitations to press for separate Telangana state in 'deference to the wishes of the people'.

Inaugurating the marathon discussions, Mr Dattatreya gave a call to the partymen to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and getting closer to various sections, including the Dalits, backward classes and farmers.

Expressing confidence that the BJP would perform well in the assembly elections in Northern states, including Uttar Pradesh, Senior party leader BJP National President M Venkaiah Naidu wanted the cadres in Andhra Pradesh to take inspiration from it and work for the party's growth among various sections.

He exhorted his partymen to spearhead strike in support of farmers, who were facing hardships due to inadequate power supply, handloom weavers, backward classes and other sections.
