UKD releases third list of 11 candidates for Assembly poll
Dehradun, Jan 23 (UNI) Uttarakhand Kranti Dal today released its third list of 11 candidates for the February 21 Assembly election in the state.
UKD president B D Raturi told mediapersons here today that party has decided to field Prayag Dutt Sharma from Bhikiyasen, Govindram (Bageshwar), Kamal Kumar Pandey (Pantnagar), Prahlad Singh Mehta (Lohaghat), Narain Singh Mehar (Champawat), Ghanshyam Joshi (Didihaat), Vipin Kotnala (Kotdwar), Sehzad (Iqbalpur), Surendra (Lakshar), Laxman Singh Rana (Ghansali) and Nandlal Kamboj (Bajpur).
He said that the party would release its election menifesto by January 26, and pursue the issue of shifting state capital to Gairsen from Dehradun. ''Delimitation, based on area, will be our second issue,'' he said, pointing out that the extension of Dixit Commission, set up to look into the matter of a permanent capital eight times, revealed that both parties -- Congress and BJP -- were not serious about shifting the capital. He claimed that people, miffed by the Congress 'misrule', wanted a change not only in the government but also in the system as corruption has permeated in it.
Mr Raturi said that the list of remaining candidates would be released very soon. He maintained that his party would also field its candidate for Tehri Lok Sabha, which had fallen vacant due to the demise of BJP MP Manvendra Shah.
The party has already released the name of 42 candidates.
