Ardh Kumbh: 2 killed during Basant Panchami snan

Ardhkumbh Nagar, Jan 23: Two women were killed and ten others seriously injured when a tractor-trolly, after colliding with a bus, overturned near Sadava village under Ghoorpur police station here late last evening.

According to the police, the victims were coming to the Ardhkumbh mala for bathing on the occasion of Basant Panchami festival. As the tractor tried to overtake a vehicle it collided head-on with an oncoming bus and overturned.

The police said about four dozen devotees, residents of Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh, were on their way to Allahabad.

The injured have been admitted to a local hospital, the police added.
