SAS Motors launches Angad tractor
Vijayawada, Jan 23 (UNI) In a bid to provide appropriate technology for the benefit of rural India, SAS Motors Ltd today launched 'Angad 22 HP' tractor here.
Talking to newspersons here after the launch, SAS Motors Executive Vice-President Gautam Das said at present only two per cent of the Indian farmers own a tractor.
Mr Das said to fulfill the dream of Indian farmers, the company had launched a tractor for Rs 1.55 lakh, less than the price of other tractors.
The would roll out an agricultural power tiller, a 35 HP tractor soon, which would cost about Rs 2.5 lakh, Mr Das added.
He said the farmer can get a subsidy of Rs 30,000 on the original cost, if he purchases the tractor through AP Agro Industries Ltd.
About 3,000 'Angad' tractors had been sold in the last one-and-half years in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka, he added.
