Chennai, Jan 23: Sabre-Abraaj Private Equity Fund I and IL&FS Investment Managers (IIML) have invested Rs 125 crore in Hyderabad-based infrastructure, construction and development company Ramky Infrastructure Limited (RIL).
RIL had issued an equity of Rs 75 crore to Sabre-Abraaj and Rs 50 crore to IL&FS Investment Managers, a company release here said today.
Following this, Rajiv Maliwal of Sabre-Abraaj and Dr Archana Hingorani of IIML have been nominated to join the board of RIL.
The release quoted Sabre-Abrajj Private Equity Vice Chairman Rajiv Maliwal as saying, "we believe the infrastructure sector in India has tremendous potential and a well-managed mid-sized company like Ramky Infrastructure is poised to take advantage of this growth."
Ramky Group Chairman Ayodhya Rami Reddy said, "we are very pleased to have Sabre - Abraaj and II&FS as our valued investors. We believe they are the right partners to help us grow and achieve full potential that the industry has to offer by providing us access to capital, best-in-class governance standards and assistance in our growth strategy." "Ramky firmly believes in infrastructure growth in the country with specific focus on public private partnership (PPP). It intends to focus its growth with a right balance of contracting and development through PPP," he added.
