Russia not against export of Brahmos:Ivanov
Bangalore Jan 23 (UNI) Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sergei Borisovich Ivanov today said that there was no change in his country's stand on the export of Brahmos cruise missiles, jointly developed and produced by India and Russia.
''There is no change in our stand,'' he told mediapersons here after discussions with HAL officials. He said ''Brahmos missiles could be sold to specific third countries and it would be a market driven decision.'' ''There are others who are competing,'' he added.
Replying to a question he said Russia was not blocking the sale of JF 17 fighter aircraft by China to Pakistan. ''Russia is not blocking it and it is not the policy of Russia,'' he said adding that certain obligations need to be followed by a country which take up aircraft under licenced production and Russia was keenly monitoring whether these obligations are being fulfilled.
To another question, he maintained Russia's concern over the recent 'satellite killer' missiles launched by China.
