Residents rescued after Russian building collapses
YEKATERINBURG, Russia, Jan 23 (Reuters) Rescuers called to a collapsed apartment building in Russia's Ural mountains today said they believed they had brought out all the victims alive.
Several residents, including children, were trapped under the rubble when a domestic gas explosion caused part of their three-storey building to collapse in the town of Kushva.
''No dead have been found,'' said Alexander Sorokoletskikh, an official with the Emergencies Ministry in the Sverdlovsk region that includes Kushva.
''Five people, including two children, have been taken out (of the rubble)'' with minor injuries, he said. Rescuers will continue to search the building to make sure no one is still trapped, he said.
