Police confiscated narcotics worth Rs.66 lakhs since December 2k5.
Panaji, Jan 23 (UNI) Goa Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane today told the Assembly that the Anti-Narcotics Cell of the state police had confiscated narcotics and psychotropic substances including heroin and LSD worth over Rs 66 lakhs since December 9, 2005.
His statement was in reply to Jitendra Deshprabhu's (Cong) unstarred question.
''The police have registered 27 cases against the alleged offenders who besides Indians, include Israeli, Nigerian, Nepali and German nationals also. The seizures comprised of 57,323 kg of charas, 10,002 kg of Ganja, 76 grams of MFMA, 70 grams of cocaine, 49 grams of ecstacy, 2 grams of heroin and 18 grams of LSD,'' he disclosed.
''Action has also been initiated against those indulging in hosting loud music parties, on the receipt of specific complaints,'' he added.
