Planning Commission team in MP
Vidisha, MP, Jan 23 (UNI) The Planning Commission has sent a team to this district for monitoring implementation of the Midday Meal Scheme in government schools.
Every student should ideally receive four 'roti', pulses and vegetables daily but the local Anjuman Primary School's Faizan said yesterday, ''we receive only two rotis per student.'' The same insititution's Ruby Khan divulged that she carries food from home as the rotis supplied are undercooked.
''Most children bring utensils from home for keeping the vegetables and when plates are in short supply newspaper is used instead,'' Teacher Anwari Begum said.
Admitting irregularities on part of the Palak Shikshak Sangh and inferior quality, the district panchayat's chief executive officer assured that speedy action would be taken.
