Patni Comp opens third development centre in US

New Delhi, Jan 23: IT consulting and services provider Patni Computer Systems today announced the expansion of its onshore operation in the United States with the opening of its third Regional Development Centre (RDC) at Bloomington, Illinois.

''The expansion to Bloomington is part of our corporate strategy to build strong, onsite operations to achieve leadership in important markets as well as satisfy customer demand. We will continue to invest in our global delivery model throughout the US and the world,'' said company Chief Operating Officer Mrinal Sattawala.

The new facility, spread across 10,000 square feet, can accommodate 100 professionals. The centre will initially focus on executing software development projects for the company's insurance business unit and scale up gradually to support the overall development operations in North America.

With the new RDC, the company will be better able to support the high growth Midwest market and offer services directly to the client base in the region and throughout North America, a Patni Computer Systems' note read.
