Case against Sarpanch, Panchayat Secretary
Patthalgaon, Chhattisgarh, Jan 23: A case of cheating has been registered against the sarpanch (president) and panchayat secretary of Jashpur district's Karmitikra village panchayat for paying labourers' wages lower than those fixed for construction work under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
In the wake of a complaint, an inquiry was undertaken by the Patthalgaon Janpad's Chief Executive Officer Santosh Kumar Wahne. He had a case registered at the local police station against Sarpanch Kalsay and Secretary Chamrooram.
