Opposition MPC demand president's rule in Mizoram
Aizawl, Jan 23 (UNI) The opposition Mizoram People's Conference (MPC) has demanded President's Rule in Mizoram.
In a memorandum to Governor Lt Gen (Retd) M M Lakhera yesterday, the MPC had accused the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) government of having a nexus with underground outfits and rampant corruption.
It also stated that organisations like Chin National Army (of Myanmar), Bru National Liberation Front (Tripura), Zo Liberation Army (Mizoram-Manipur), Hmar Peoples' Convention (Mizoram) have free access in the state.
''Now the state virtually becomes a congenial hide-out for different inter-state and international insurgent outfits and also a corridor of international arms smuggling,'' the MPC alleged.
