Notice to Haryana DGP, others in SI harassment case

Chandigarh, Jan 23 (UNI) The Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice for May 7, to Haryana Director General of Police Ranjeev Singh Dalal and others on a petition filed by a Sub-Inspector seeking directions for an independent probe into ''the continued harassment of the petitioner'' by the respondents.

Seeking a probe preferably by CBI, Mange Ram, an SI posted at Ambala, has pleaded that his harassment was evident from the fact that as may as seven inquiries have been ordered against him besides placing him under suspension, after he had submitted complaints against Mr Dalal and other officers to the higher authorities.

He also pointed out that had to move High Court to get his the police medal awarded to him as these officers had refused to release the same to him.
