Netaji's birth anniversary celebrated with enthusiasm

Kolkata, Jan 23 (UNI) The 110th birth anniversary Of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was today celebrated throughtout West Bengal with due solemnity.

Several functions were organised in various parts of the state to pay homage to Netaji. Various clubs all over the state also organised a number of programmes on the occasion.

The state Congress celebrated the day by unfurling the flag at Bidhan Bhavan, where several leaders dwelt at length on the great leader.

The Forward Bloc celebrated the day through various programmes.

They hoisted the flag at their city office and also garlanded the statue of Netaji.

The Kendriya Netaji Jayanti Committee organised a programme on the Red road to celebrate the day.

Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi presided over the Netaji Birthday assembly, organised by the Netaji Research Bureau at the Netaji Bhawan.

Students of various schools and government departments took out processions with the aim to promote peace and integrity.

Meanwhile, people of the state also solemnised Saraswati puja, the worship of godess of learning.

Youngsters clad at their best thronged the pandals to pay their obeisance to the Goddess.
