Tripura: Netaji's 110th birth anniversary celebrated

Agartala, Jan 23: The 110th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated throughout Tripura today with much enthusiasm and respect.

Several functions were organised on this ocassion in various parts of the state. The main function was held at the Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan here with unfurling of the national flag.

Students of various schools and government departments took out tableaux with the aim to promote peace and integrity. Various clubs throughout the state also organised a number of programmes on the occassion.

Many speakers, while speaking on the occassion, highlighted Netaji's life and struggle for independence against British rule.

Procession were brought out and students marched in this capital city and other parts of the state.

Viewers qued up on both sides of roads since morning braving cold to commemorate this day.

All state government and semi-government offices, including educational institutions and banks, remained closed today due to holiday on Netaji's birthday today.

The goddess of learning--Devi Saraswati--was worshipped throughtout with much vigour and fervour in the state today.
