Naveen replaces Nitish as most popular CM: Survey

New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has replaced his Bihar counterpart, Nitish Kumar, as the most popular CM, according to a survey conducted by CNN-IBN, CSDS and Hindustan Times.

The survey results showed that Patnaik had nudged to the top slot from the fourth position in January 2006 and the second position in August 2006.

Mr Nitish Kumar, who was number one in the previous two surveys, was found to have slipped to the second spot on a list of 19 Chief Ministers.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda finished at the bottom of the table, while Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was placed at the 18th place.

Kerala Chief Minister V S Achutanandan was placed in the third position, followed by Mr M Karunanidhi (Tamil Nadu), Mr H D Kumaraswamy (Karnataka), Mr Tarun Gogoi (Asom), Mr Narendra Modi (Gujarat), Capt Amarinder Singh (Punjab), Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee (West Bengal), Mr Rajasekhara Reddy (Andhra Pradesh), Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda (Haryana), Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Madhya Pradesh), Mr Vilasrao Deshmukh (Maharashtra), Mr Raman Singh (Chhattisgarh), Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav (Uttar Pradesh), Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad (Jammu and Kashmir), Ms Vasundhara Raje Scindia (Rajasthan), Ms Sheila Dikshit (Delhi), and Mr Madhu Koda (Jharkhand).
