Murugappa group's turnover touches Rs 1596.53 crore

Chennai, Jan 23 (UNI) Leading business group Murugappa has registered a sales turnover of Rs 1596.53 crore, an increase of 24 per cent, compared to previous year.

A company release here today said the group's turnover was Rs 1596.53 crore as against Rs 1290.86 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The gross profit before depreciation, interest and taxes for the nine-months period stood at Rs 182.63 crore against Rs 135.04 crore during the same period last year.

The profit before tax was up by 47.2 per cent taking it to Rs 133.95 crore compared to Rs 91 crore for the corresponding period of last year.

The net profit stood at Rs 86.15 crore compared to Rs 67.62 crore during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 27.4 per cent.
