More than 20 killed in Guinea strike clashes

CONAKRY, Jan 22 (Reuters) More than 20 people were killed and at least 150 were injured in Guinea today in clashes between security forces and protesters on the most violent day of a 13-day-old anti-government general strike, officials said.

A doctor at the Donka Hospital in Conakry said 17 people were killed by gunfire in the capital, while a senior local government official said six other people were killed in the northeastern towns of Kankan and Siguiri.
