Metro services to be curtailed on Jan 26

New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) As a part of security arrangements for the Republic Day, services of Delhi Metro will be partially curtailed on January 26 and January 29, the day Beating Retreat ceremony will be held.

On January 26, there would be no Metro services at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat stations of Line-2 (Vishwa Vidhyalaya to Central Secretariat) and Mandi House, Pragati Maidan and Indraprastha stations of Line-3 (Dwarka Sector-9 to Indraprastha) till 1230 hrs. Thereafter, normal services would resume at these stations.

Thus, on January 26, Metro services on Line-2 would be available only from Vishwa Vidyalaya to Rajiv Chowk and on Line-3 from Dwarka Sector-9 to Barakhamba Road from 0600 hrs to 1230 hrs.

Services on Line-1 (Shahdara to Rithala) would, however, be normal for the whole day.

On January 29, Metro services would not be available at Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat stations of Line-2 only from 1530 hrs to 1830 hrs.

Thus, services on Line-2 would be available only between Vishwa Vidyalaya and Rajiv Chowk during this time. Services on Line-1 and Line-3 would operate normally.

In addition, all Metro parking lots would remain closed from 1900 hrs on January 25 to 1300 hrs on January 26, as advised by Delhi Police, for security reasons.
