Man kills self and kids

Jabalpur, Jan 23 (UNI) A man killed his three children by making them consume pesticide and then committed suicide by consuming it himself at this district's Hathikhadar village following a minor dispute with his wife, the police said.

Hathikhadar-resident Hakim Singh alerted the police yesterday about his brother-in-law Gulab Gond having killed Jijibai (1), Chhuttu (3) and Surjeet (5) while working at a farm by making them drink a mixture of jaggery and pesticide.

The children's cries brought Singh and his wife to the spot but the four succumbed before they could be taken to hospital.

''Gond and my sister Kesarbai lived at Lalpur village. About four months back, a dispute led to Gond living at my place along with the children,'' Singh said.

Gond was depressed over the past few days.
