Haryana adds over 12 lakh MT rice to Central pool

Chandigarh, Jan 23 (UNI) The Haryana government has delivered 12.82 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of rice to the Central pool so far.

Of this, 9.29 lakh metric tonnes of rice has been delivered by the six government procurement agencies while the millers have contributed 3.53 lakh tonnes to the Central pool, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said today.

Hafed had contributed 4.02 lakh MTs of rice, followed by Food and Supplies Department 2.85 lakh MTs, Agro Industries Corporation 1.06 lakh MTs, Confed 81641 MTs, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 46899 MTs and FCI 7400 MTs.

The Kurukshetra district delivered 2.80 MTs of rice to the Central pool, followed by district Karnal 2.21 lakh MTs, Fatehabad 1.78 lakh MTs, Kaithal 1.77 lakh MTs, Ambala 1.51 lakh MTs and Yamunanagar 91,000 MTs.
