Guj Governor launches Raj Bhavan website

Gandhinagar, Jan 23 (UNI) Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma today launched the Raj Bhavan website here at a function here.

The website will make available authentic account of the functioning of the Raj Bhavan as well as information regarding the role of the Governor as the Constitutional Head of the State to the common man, a Raj Bhavan release here said.

''In today's world, greater focus on transparency in every sphere has become very important. This became all the more relevant with the enactment of the Right to Information Act, 2005. Hence, it was decided to develop Raj Bhavan's own website,'' the statement said.

The website 'http:rajbhavan.gujarat.gov.in' gives detailed narration about the constitutional provisions for the appointment of the Governor as well as his powers and functions and duties. Attempt has been made to take the visitor on a short tour to the Raj Bhavan complex so that he can have an idea about it, the statement added.
