Group of Minister clear MPD 2021, notification in next 15 days

New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) The Group of Ministers today cleared the final draft of the Master Plan 2021, passed by the DDA Board on January 19, with Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy saying that the MPD 2021 would be notified in the next 15 days.

Speaking to reporters after an over two hour-long meeting of the Group of Ministers to discuss the final proposals of the Master Plan, which contained the suggestions given by the Delhi Government on the initial draft of MPD 2-21, Mr Reddy said,''the revised draft of the Master Plan 2021, sent to the Urban Development Ministry by the DDA has been cleared by the GOM, which felt that the MPD 2021 offers a great vision for Delhi's future besides providing relief to lakhs of people in Delhi from sealing and demolition. The GOM has authorised the Urban Development Ministry with the necessary amendments and we are hopeful of notifying the same in the next 15 days.'' Mr Reddy said that in the Master Plan 2021 effort had been made to meet the needs of all sections of people in Delhi.

''We have tried to balance interests and the concerns of all sections of people in Delhi in the Master Plan 2021. At the same time, it is not possible to satisfy everyone,'' Mr Reddy said.

Mr Reddy said that simultaneously with the process of notification of the Master Plan, the Urban Development Ministry would also approach the Union cabinet on the issue of regularisation of the unauthorised colonies.

''The Ministry will approach the Cabinet in this regard soon.

The process too will take 15 days,''Mr Reddy said.
