DMDK activists burn effigies of Karunanidhi
Chennai, Jan 23: Desiya Dravida Murpokku Kazhagam (DMDK) workers burnt effigies of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at various spots in the state protesting against Income Tax raids at premises of actor-politician and DMDK founder Vijayakant here and his sister at Madurai.
Police said though the activists were prevented from burning the effigies of Mr Karunanidhi at Salem and Tirunelveli, it happened at other spots before police could intervene.
The irate DMDK activists, shouting anti-Karunanidhi and anti-IT department slogans, also damaged two government vehicles parked outside the actor's house.
In connection with these incidents, two persons were secured by the police.
