Cong to get 40 pc votes in Punjab, 34 pc in Uttarakhand
New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) The Congress is likely to emerge at the top getting 40 per cent of the votes in Punjab and 34 per cent in Uttarakhand assembly elections, a survey conducted by CNN-IBN-CSDS- Hindustan Times showed.
The Akali Dal-BJP combine is expected to finish second in Punjab with a poll percentage of 36, while the BJP is tipped for the second place in Uttarakhand with a 26 per cent vote share.
The survey results, however, did not talk about the actual number of seats each party would be getting in the next month's elections in the two states.
In Punjab, the BSP is predicted to get five per cent of the votes, while 'others' would poll 19 per cent.
In Uttarakhand, the BSP is likely to get nine per cent of the votes, while the UKD is expected to poll seven per cent.
In Uttar Pradesh, where the Election Commission is yet to announce the assembly polls, the SP and BSP are predicted to finish with a vote share of 25 per cent each, followed by the BJP with 16 per cent, the Congress with 12 per cent, the RLD with two per cent and others with 20 per cent.
