Mumbai, Jan 23 (UNI) Inter bank rates continued to take a dip having closed the day at 7.70-7.90 per cent as against the previous trading session's corresponding level of 7.80-8.00 per cent, dealers said.

Despite negative factors such as an impending GOI bond auction amidst tight liquidity, reported overmaintenance done by the banks meant that the call money rates remained around the present low levels.

The LAF window saw the RBI accepting four bids worth Rs 210 crore at the 1-day reverse-repo auction while 30 bids worth Rs 12,115 crore were received at its 1-day repo auction.

At the CBLO segment, 294 bids amounting to Rs 17,576 crore were transacted in the range of 7.20-7.35 per cent.

Amidst steady levels of both, demand and supply, inter bank rates are likely to stay soft, dealers added.
