BJP MP says will quit if declared guilty

Satna, MP, Jan 23 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party local MP Ganesh Singh has announced that he will resign from parliament and renounce politics if he is declared guilty in a case relating to alleged irregularities while selecting 'shiksha karmis' (education workers) in 1998.

The Lokayukta filed a charge-sheet against Mr Singh on January 18.

''I entered politics with the objective of working with total honesty and that remains my principle to this day. I maintain that my declaration of assets at the time of contesting the general election is accurate and I am ready for any inquiry,'' Mr Singh said in a statement issued here.
