Alert driver averts train mishap in Punjab
Amritsar, Jan 23 (UNI) An alert engine driver today averted a train mishap on the Amritsar-Pathankot section, railway sources here said.
The driver of the 9-ABP, Amritsar-Pathankot passenger train noticed a minor fracture on the railway track near Verka railway station and immediately applied the brakes to slow down the train.
Though the train crossed the fractured portion at a slow speed, no damage was done.
Later, on inspection of the track, a ten inch-long fracture was noticed in the track. Traffic on the section was suspended briefly for repairing the track.
