3 held, Rs 50 lakh jewellery seized

Tirupati, Jan 23 (UNI) The city crime police arrested three persons including an inter-state criminal and recovered Rs 50 lakh worth gold, silver and navaratnaa ornaments from them, Chittoor District Superintendent of Police Charusinha said here today.

Addressing a press conference, she said special teams raided various places in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Goa and nabbed S K Ravikumar alias Prakash Reddy, the head of the gang, at New Thippasandra in Bangalore city.

A history-sheeter, Reddy (45) was wanted in several cases of dacoity in the states and also in Nepal.

Two of his associates S K Varadaraj Reddy (48) and M Venkatadri (38) were also arrested. Three others Jaipal, Babu Rao and Balaraj were yet to be nabbed.

The police also recovered TVs, cameras, DVD players, watches and other electronic goods were recovered from them, he added.
