3-day music festival in Surat from January 25

Surat, Jan 23: Eminent flautist Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia will inaugurate a three-day music festival, being hosted by the Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture among Youth (SPICMACAY), on January 25.

Pandit Chaurasia will himself perform on the same day, SPICMACAY has informed.

The music festival will be held on the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) campus and noted musicians like Dharmiklal Pandya, Jayashree, Yashwant Bua Joshi, Shahid Parvez, Nityanand Haldipur and T M Krishna will be participating in it.

The main attraction of the event will be an overnight concert programme, which will begin on January 27 evening and conclude on the next morning. Five noted musicians will perform in the overninght concert.

Dharmiklal Pandya will present ''Maan Akhyan'', an instrumental performance along with the recitation of mythological episodes.
