24 Myanmaress deported from Mizoram

Aizawl, Jan 23 (UNI) Mizoram police deported about 24 Myanmar nationals, including six women, yesterday.

Police here today said the Assam Rifles had detained a few supporters of Chin National Front (CNF) and Myanmar Democratic Front (MDF), underground organisations of Myanmar, last week from India-Myanmar border at Mizoram.

They were nabbed while undergoing a training at the residence of a local man, Lalhnua, in Saiha town, police said, adding they were investigating into the person's involvment.

Reportedly, they were being imparted para-medical training by a doctor from Myanmar, currrently residing in Churachandpur of Manipur, police added.

Meanwhile, Aizawl police have arrested Tlangehawia (30) in connection with the murder of a 60-year-old woman, whose body was found at her residence on the outskirts of the city on Sunday.

Tlangehawia, the son-in-law of the deceased, has confessed committing the crime during interogation but investigation is on to ascertain the cause of the murder, police said.
