Youth arrested for links with dacoits

Morena, MP, Jan 22 (UNI) A youth, who planned to abduct rich people and hand them over to the Jagjivan Parihar gang for money, has been arrested, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Hari Singh Yadav said Morena-resident Neeraj Tomar alias Bunty, a first year science student at a college in Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested.

Bunty and his two friends Dhirendra Sikarwar and Devandra had met dacoit Jagjivan Parihar and offered to abduct rich people and hand them over to him. In return, Parihar promised them half the ransom amount.

Later, Bunty and his friends hatched a plan to abduct a school director's son, a businessman and another person. On January 11, when the trio had gone to meet Parihar, an encounter between police and the gang took place.

During the encounter, dacoit Ramnath Sikarwar was killed, while Devandra was arrested.

Based on Devandra's confession, police arrested Bunty.
