Welspun-Gujarat bags Rs 1,049cr overseas pipes orders

New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI) Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd today secured Rs 1,049 crore orders from overseas companies to supply line pipes for critical oil and gas applications.

The orders take the company's order book position to over Rs 3,500 crore including those executed in third quarter of fiscal 2007.

''To have such a privileged positioning globally is a sign of honour for Welspun and we look forward to a successful and mutually beneficial relationship in the years to come,'' Welspun Group Vice Chairman and Managing Director B K Goenka said.

With the orders, the company is booked for over one year.

The company also said it has been short-listed for projects over one billion dollars, which shall enable a strong growth.

Some of its key pipe supplies in recent past were for PGN, Indonesia, Stroy Transgas, Algeria, Saudi Aramco, NIGC Iran, etc.

It has also supplied large diameter pipes with heavy wall thickness to Iran and Gulf of Mexico.
