Union Home Minister offers prayers to Lord Venkateswara

Tirumala, Jan 22 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil here early today offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara.

Mr Patil, who reached here by road last night after participating at a function to felicitate Satya Sai Baba at Chennai, was received at the temple entrance by TTD Chairman B Karunakar Reddy and other top temple and police officials.

After darshan of Lord Balaji, he stayed overnight at the hill top.

He was honoured by the temple priests and later presented with Sri Vari prasadams by a senior temple official.

Mr Singh, later left for New Delhi by a special aircraft from Renigunta airport.
