Mumbai, Jan 22 (UNI) The designated TADA Court at Mumbai today allowed two women, convicted under the Terrorists and Disruptive Activities Act, time to surrender until further orders.

Designated Judge P D Kode allowed the application, seeking time to surrender until the court pronounces the quantum of sentences, filed by their counsels Farhana Shah and Nayab Ansari on behalf of Zaibunissa Qazi and Mubina Baya on humanitarian grounds.

The lawyers told the court that while Qazi, a divorcee, had to look after her two daughters, while Baya had two minors to support.

They appealed to allow time to surrender as their family needed them.

Meanwhile, Kerci Adjania and Rusi Mullah, convicted under the Arms Act, like Sanjay Dutt, have filed an application for being released under the Probation of Offenders Act. Kerci has submitted, in his application, that he needs to support his wife who will be left all alone if he is sentenced while Mullah has stated that he is the only one to look after his old father and wife.
