Two killed, 40 hurt as lorry overturns

Tiruchirapalli, Jan 22 (UNI) Two persons, including a woman, were killed on the spot and 40 injured when a mini lorry carrying them overturned at Pachaiperumalpatti village in Thuraiyur Taluk here today.

Police said the victims were returning to their native Pallinatham in Musiri after attending a funeral at Thuraiyur when the driver of the lorry lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve.

The injured were admitted to government hospitals here and Thuraiyur.
