Two arrested from Mumbai in connection with murder, robbery
Surat, Jan 22 (UNI) Detection of Crime Branch sleuths arrested two persons from Mumbai in connection with the murder of a watchman and looting in a diamond trader's house last week and brought them here today, police sources said here.
A DCB team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Subhash Trivedi yesterday arrested Santosh Gupta and Manish Sahani, the two persons allegedly involved in the case.
However, the kingpin in the incident, Naresh Jain and his friend Ravi Nepali are still absconding.
Naresh Jain, working as a driver with the diamond trader Ashok Sawani, residing in Athwalines, plotted the loot and prepared the plan with the help of Ravi Nepali, who was a close friend of Banshdhar, the watchman in the house.
The gang entered the bungalow of Sawani on January 14 morning, killed the watchman, attacked Mr Sawani and his wife and looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 3,00,000.
