TDP 'surprised' by Sai Baba's comments on Telangana

Hyderabad, Jan 22 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leader and MLA Ch Rajeswar Rao today said he was surprised at the Sri Satya Sai Baba's comment on the issue of separate Telangana'.

Referring to Baba's statement at a programme in Chennai yesterday that the demand for statehood was a 'sin,' Mr Rao said the Telangana issue was a matter of sentiment. Everyone should understand the senitments of the people of Telangana.

However, everyone has the right to express their views on every issue, he said, adding the Telangana issue had raked up separate statehood demands in Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra.
