Six new police stations in Tripura

Agartala, Jan 22 (UNI) The Tripura government has opened six new police stations in three districts of the state here today in order to beef up security on the eve of Republic Day.

According to official sources, six new police stations were set up, two each in West, Dhalai and South districts respectively.

With the opening of these six new PSs, the total number has gone up to 58, including a women-run police station here.

The West district tops with 21 police stations, followed by South district with 12, Dhalai ten and North district nine, the sources added.

The police stations, were opened in Radhapur under Sadar Subdivision, Mungiakami under Teliamura sub-division in West District, Silachari under Sabroom sub-division, Kakraban under Udaipur sub-division of South District and Manikpur and Dhumacherra under Longtari Valley sub-division in Dhalai District respectively.
