Rs 150 cr will be allotted in budget for BC scholarship: CM

Palakolu, Jan 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the government would earmark Rs 150 crore to provide scholarships to the students from the Backward Class in the coming budget.

Speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of Dr Dasari Narayanarao Government college here, Dr Reddy said the government would provide all infrastructure facilities to the college.

Responding to the request of Union Coal and Minister Minister Dasari Narayana Rao, who presided over the function, the Chief Minister assured that he would sanction either a big industry or a 1,000 mw power plant in West Godavari district, particularly in Narsapur parliamentary constituency.

Stating that the establishment of engineering colleges in rural areas in the state would provide more job oportunities to the youth, Dr Reddy said and sanctioned setting up of a Jawahar Knowlege Centre at Palakolu.
