Road accident kills 4 pilgrims, hurts 6

Pratapgarh, Jan 22 (UNI) At least four pilgrims, including three women, were killed and six others sustained grievous wounds after a speeding jeep collided head-on with a truck in this district of Uttar Pradesh today.

Police said the jeep on its way to Ardh Kumbh Nagar, Allahabad, rammed into a truck killing four people on the spot under Hatigavan police station area.

The deceased were identified as Radhey Shyam (45), Vidhyavasini (60), Rekha (40) and Sarla Pandey (40).

The critically injured were rushed to a hospital from where they were sent for treatment to Allahabad.
