Rapist slapped capital punishment

Ferozabad, Jan 22 (UNI) A local court today pronounced capital punishment on a person accused in the rape and murder of a toddler in Ferozabad district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to prosecution, on May 2, 2005, after criminally assaulting a two-year-old girl, Sher Singh Rajpoot had garrotted her under Uttar police station area.

On the basis of substantial evidence and testimony, Fast Track Court (I) Judge A K Upadhaye handed down capital punishment to the accused.

The judgement was passed after nine witnesses, including Sher Singh's wife, gave their testimony.
