Rajasthan gets Rs 126 crore under JLN Renewal Mission for Jaipur
New Delhi, Jan 22 (UNI) Rajasthan has been sanctioned Rs 126 crore under the Jawaharlal Nehru Renewal Mission Programme for development of Jaipur City Sewerage Scheme Phase II.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Urban Development Ministry here today where Jaipur Municipal Commissioner Mahendra Soni was also present.
According to sources, the sewage project would cover upto 80 per cent area of Jaipur by 2009. Earlier the Ministry had sanctioned Rs 74 crore for the first phase of sewerage scheme under the Mission.
Under the JLN Urban Renewal Mission Programme, Rajasthan has got projects worth Rs 1125 crore till date. Besides a drinking water project of Rs 1128 crore is under consideration of the Planning Commission.
