Police on 'High Alert' in Jammu
Jammu, Jan 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir administration has sounded high alert in the city to ensure peaceful Republic Day celebrations, police sources said today.
Four Additional Battalions of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are being deployed in the city, besides four J K Armed Police and six District Police Battalions to keep vigil till the Republic Day celebrations at MA Sports Statium, sources said.
Police have started random security checking of vehicles at all the entry roads to the city.
As many as 12 contingents of Army, BSF, CRPF, JKAP, Auxiliary Police, fire services and ex-servicemen, NCC Cadets and school children would take part in the march past, on the Republic Day.
