Pakistan lodges protest with coalition forces
Islamabad, Jan 22 (UNI) Pakistan has lodged strong protest with the international coalition forces, operating in Afghanistan for inadvertant firing on one of its posts from across the border, which left one soldier killed and two others injured.
''In an unfortunate incident close to Pak Afghan border, Coalition Forces mistakenly fired on one of our posts near Shawal, North Waziristan tribal Agency, killing one soldier and wounding two others,'' said a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) here this evening.
It said that a strong protest has been lodged with coalition forces asking them to investigate the matter and take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in future.
