Non-bailable warrant for SP MLA

Pilibhit, Jan 22 (UNI) A court has issued a non-bailable warrant for the arrest of the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Hazi Riyaz Ahmed and ordered to present him before the Chief Judicial Magistrate on January 27.

In 1998, FIR was lodged against SP MLA Hazi Riyaz Ahmed for violating the election code of conduct. During the election campaign, Mr Riyaz was caught travelling in a car having no registration number.

Earlier, Mr Riyaz was summoned but notwithstanding the court's order, he did not appear before it.

Now, the case is being heard in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate. On Saturday, the court fixed January 27 as the next hearing of the case.
