NCP Manifesto released
Pune, Jan 22 (UNI) District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar today released a six page NCP manifesto for the upcoming civic polls, promising extensive developmental works of Rs 558 crore for Pune city, including adequate water supply and making the city free from load shedding.
The NCP has promised better health care facilities and equipment in the government run Sassoon Hospital.
Pawar said slum rehabilitation will be the focus of the party without allowing the matter to be politicised. Better education facilities will be made available in schools run by the Corporation.
He charged the Congress with hasty implementation of the much touted Bus Rapid Transport System (BRTS) project, causing death of 6 lives in the past one and half months.
Interestingly, City MP Suresh Kalmadi refuted the charges yesterday during an election rally, stating that bad roads caused the accidents and not the BRTS.
